Electrotherapies 

At CS Veterinary Physiotherapy we have access to a Class 3B Laser as well as Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. These can be used in conjunction with manual therapy techniques to assist animals with in their rehabilitation and maintenance therapy. .

Equine Laser Therapy 

Laser Therapy uses red and near infrared light to produce therapeutic effects on your animal. 

The Laser encourages blood flow to affected area which in turn attracts more oxygen and nutrients. This increase in metabolic activity also helps enhance tissue repair, reduce swelling and inflammation, reduce muscle spasms and accelerate recovery. 

Examples of conditions it can be used for: 

  • Soft tissue tension or injury

  • Chronic wounds 

  • Joint injuries/ 

    diseases 
  • Effects from Laminitis 

  • Post- surgical rehabilitation

Canine Laser Therapy 

Low- Level Laser Therapy can help to release endorphins as well as anti-inflammatory markers. â€‹â€‹

  • Soft tissue tension or injury
  • Chronic wounds 

  • Inflammation/swelling 

  • Joint injuries/ diseases

  • Degenerative conditions  

  • Post- surgical rehabilitation

Equine PMFT (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy)

PMFT  makes use of magnetic pulses in order to promote tissue healing and recovery. 

It can be used to stimulate osteoblast and chondrocyte growth, support bone healing and cartilage protection. It promotes anti-inflammatory effects and lowers prostaglandin levels which are linked to equine pain. 

Examples of conditions it can be used for:​

  • Fracture healing 

  • Osteoarthritis 

  • Soft tissue injuries 

  • Ligament/tendon injuries 

  • Muscle tension/ soreness 

  • Sacroiliac joint issues

Canine/Feline PMFT  

PMFT is a non-invasive technique used to promote healing, manage pain and reduce inflammation.

Examples of conditions it can be used for:​

  • Bone fractures  â€‹

  • Wound healing 

  • Osteoarthritis 

  • ligament/tendon injuries such as CCL ruptures 

  • Pain management 

  • IVDD recovery​
